A new programme BIOMORPHIX for the study of the variability of the skeletal elements
The hardware-software complex "Biomorphix" is intended for input, storage, measuring and comparative analysis of
2D and 3D images of biological objects, their recognition and subsequent statistical processing. "Biomorphix" is
specifically aimed at creation of models of biological objects and their comparison for finding out the
relationship degree of homologous skeletal elements in various organisms. The program works especially effectively
in the conditions of small statistical extractions and incomplete information on the object, that is
characteristic of palaeontological material, applying to which this technique was developed.

International Palaeontological and Morphometrical Database BIOMORPHIX |
Welcome to the International Palaeontological and morphometrical database Biomorphix! This database includes 3D and 2D object model files, which may be used for comparative purposes in your morphometrical studies. Object model files are supplied with object structure descriptions created for some systematic groups. Feel free to download any model files (.dat), object structure descriptions (.cfg) and graphic instructions.
However, considering potentially huge amount of future works and
interest of the international scientific community in the results of
this project, send newly created object model files (.dat), as well as files containing the object structure descriptions (.cfg) to O. Lebedev
(olebed@paleo.ru) for expansion of this public database at the server of the Palaeontological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. |
